Pro-Lifers Counter “Women’s March” Nationwide

September has been a tumultuous month for the debate on abortion. It all began with the Texas heartbeat taking effect on September 1st. Even the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the law citing the 10th amendment.

Later, a radical bill was passed by the House of Representatives that would reverse all pro-life laws passed on state level making abortion federal law.

As the potential of Roe v Wade case being reversed by the Supreme Court, with a hearing and arguments taking place in DC on December 1st, the flop of an event called “Women’s March took place in several cities across the United States on Saturday, October 2nd.

As always, college students and young adults assembled to counter the event. Here are some takeaways from several who were on the frontlines.

Grace Rykaczewski- Washington, DC

Students for Life had a strong showing in DC. Grace was one of the student activists present. She shared three takeaways:

  1. There was a shocking amount of aggression from pro abortion men towards pro-life women at a “WOMEN’S MARCH”. Ironic. I witnessed a man trying to grab a bull horn out of a young pro-life woman’s hands.
  2. They didn’t really call it the women’s march this year, they called it the rally for Abortion Justice which is so fitting because it has never been a “Women’s March” it’s always been a pro-abortion March. Since the very first one pro-life organizations, even pro-life feminist organizations were disinvited from the March. How can it be a women’s March if they disinvite half of women??
  3. It’s terrible that the women’s march completely ignores all other women’s issues. We didn’t see a single sign about women in Afghanistan, women being raped or the wage gap. Nothing. All abortion related signs and shirts.
  4. they held a prayer rally… the pro-aborts. Idk who they thought they were praying to but not my God…

Titus Folks

The big thing Titus witnessed while in Indianapolis is how the pro-aborts were not open to dialogue or understanding a view that is opposite to them. Him and along with seven high schools and colleges were at hand. Despite the wet weather and losing their voices from chanting, they were all present to give a voice to the voiceless.

For Mallory Finch of Charlotte, NC she was disappointed that these women have believed the lie being sold by our culture. The women of the Women’s March have boiled women’s rights down to abortion. They rebranded the Women’s March to be the Abortion Justice.

After talking to a few of the women (that actually had conversations and weren’t just yelling in my face) many of them really weren’t educated. Many of these women don’t know what abortion really is. Also many of these women aren’t aware of the other many things we do as prolifers. Some of the women were shocked when we started talking about Pregnancy Help Centers and our petitions for Paid Family Leave for Moms and Dads.

For Anna Gidish, President and Foundress of Lehigh Valley Pro-Life Future, she uses the opportunity to help pregnant women receive access to abortion alternatives. She shares:

“One woman stopped us before all the Women’s March protesters got there. (We decided to get there early and take their spot!) She angrily asked Maria and Olivia, if you have time to protest, why don’t you spend time giving real resources to women. Her tune changed after Maria and Olivia actually discussed Standing With You and our local pregnancy center. She was 5 months pregnant and her baby’s father just walked out on them recently. Maria was able to offer a blessing bag she had in her car from when she was outside Planned Parenthood the day before. The woman was so grateful for the resources. Whether she already intended to choose life before or not… I am not sure, BUT she did say that she believes it is in “providence” that she does choose life for her child! Another woman walked by and said she liked what we were doing during the counter-protest. I ran up to her and talked to her about the resources we offer in the community. She told me she was pregnant and the father wanted her to have an abortion. She said she didn’t want an abortion, though. I checked with her to see what she needed. She said she would reach out via Standing With You, if she needs help!”

Theses were just the many testimonies from the now of the pro-life movement. Some have diverse backgrounds, yet they have one goal: make abortion unthinkable because it hurts women.

The True Story of Kermit Gosnell – a Presentation by Detective Jim Wood

The Bucks County Right to Life would like to invite everyone to join them for a presentation on Sunday, October 25th by Detective Jim Wood.  Details are below including links to livestream this event from either Our Lady of Guadalupe parish website or through their Facebook page.  We ask that you print out the attached flyer and distribute to all your pro-life family and friends.  We hope to have a good showing both at the church and through livestreaming.

Come listen to Detective Jim Wood give a presentation about his experiences during the investigation and trial of Kermit Gosnell, the world’s most horrific serial killer of late-term unborn babies.  Detective Wood was a Philadelphia police officer from 1986 to 2011 and his work after the case led to Pennsylvania passing a law requiring mandatory health inspections of all abortion facilities.

Gosnell, who was once a well-respected doctor, was arrested, charged, and convicted of the deaths of three babies who were born alive and killed. He was also convicted of the overdose death of a women who had an abortion.

This presentation is dedicated to the memory of Kathy Cox who was president of the Bucks County Right to Life.  Kathy died this past July. It was Kathy’s wish to have Detective Wood come and give his presentation.

We will follow the soical guidelines provided by the CDC and the State of Pennsylvania.  Those who are still uncomfortable with being in a closed environment due to COVID-19 will be able to live-stream this event through the parish website using this link,  or through Facebook using this link.

This event is sponsored by the Bucks County Right to Life

Diversity Marks Pro-Life Movement

The following was received from Frank D. Tinari, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus, Seton Hall University.  It comes from the Family & ProLife News Briefs.

BLM

by Alexandra DeSanctis

Diversity Marks Pro-Life Movement

It features prominent female leaders and black activists, and has far more support from non-religious Americans than abortion supporters admit.

Late last year, the Church of God in Christ, the largest Pentecostal denomination and overwhelmingly African-American and Democrat, unveiled its “Resolution on the Sanctity of Human Life.” The resolution stated:

Abortion is genocide.
Abortion must end to protect the life of the unborn.

This issue of personhood has haunted America since the Dred Scott, Plessy v. Ferguson and Roe v. Wade decisions. Just as slavery was overturned in America, Jim Crow was defeated, and Nazi Germany was overthrown, we pray that the heinous industry of abortion will become morally reprehensible worldwide.”

Pro-life leaders often mention the deep ties between the earliest legal abortion advocates and the eugenics movement, noting that Planned Parenthood’s founder, Margaret Sanger, wanted to decrease what she saw as “unfit” populations including, in her view, blacks. She promoted birth control, though not abortion, to limit low-income & minority groups & proposed mandatory sterilization for those she deemed “feeble-minded.” Such views were widely shared among the earliest abortion advocates.

Secular Pro-Life, found in 2009 by Kelsey Hazzard, represents non religious pro-lifers. She is assisted by Terrisa Bukovinac, a member of Democrats for Life and founder of Pro-Life San Francisco, which aims to galvanize West Coast young people. After seeing videos of abortion procedures, she became pro-life. “You can’t justify abortion any more than you can justify the killing of a born person. There is no consistent, objective distinction between an unborn person and a human being.”

Alexandra DeSanctis, The Pro-life Movement You’ve Never Heard Of, National Review, 4/6/20. Additional groups are highlighted in her article.

The Hypocrisy of Pro-Abortion Governors

It should come as no surprise that many governors who claim to be Catholic are choosing their self-interest over the faith of others.

Here is  a rundown of every so-called Catholic governor so far

Andrew Cuomo- New York

Cuomo does not need a long introduction, but God knows that he is in the state of mortal sin as he continues to murder life from womb to tomb in the Empire State. The apple didn’t fall far from the tree as his father, Mario, labeled the idea that “I’m Catholic, but” which was backfired by Cardinal John O’Connor. Who dares to play God when it comes to human life?

Gina Raimondo- Rhode Island

She sent a letter to Barth Bracy, the executive director of Rhode Island Right to Life, about keeping abortion facilities open while churches are closed during the pandemic.

Gretchen Whitmer- Michigan

Whitmer is a feminist. A tween from 2018 recently surfaced that shows her wearing a pink hat that reads, “Planned Parenthood makes America Great”. Oh, really? Then why have 61 million Americans been murdered by the largest abortion chain? She even barred purchasing American flags while allowing abortions to happen in her state. Read more here

Tom Wolf- Pennsylvania

Wolf volunteered for Planned Parenthood in his early days. He even is their best friend. Observe

tom wolf PP Escort

What is appalling is, like many of his esteemed colleagues that have turned states progressive, he deemed abortion as “essential service” while many businesses in the commonwealth are suffering. Even with a red house and senate in the Keystone State, Wolf has vetoed pro-life bills, but they will be overridden.

Ralph Northam

Dr. Ralph Northam has been the subject of many news headlines. What is so disconcerting about him is the fact that a former pediatrician who dares to play the inconsistent card when it comes to human life. One example is his viewpoint on infanticide.

Bottom line: elections have consequences and those that have refused to defend the most precious must be voted out.

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH AUTHOR BRIAN EDWARDS

In a recent post, I shared about a book that is on the bookshelves now due to an early release. I had an opportunity to interview the author himself through a Q&A. Let us get behind authors, businesses, and those who are unafraid to proclaim the pro-life message.

1) Tell us who you are and your personal background (family, occupation, where you live)
A: I’m Brian! I converted to Catholicism five years ago from a church-hopping Protestant! I have a wife and daughter, and we’re from Alabama. I am an IT guy for a major hospital down here and am blessed enough to still be working during this pandemic. I also run a Catholic meme page on Instagram, @Cathoholicism -I started that account at the end of 2018.

2) You have a book that is coming out later this spring. What is it called? What is it about?
A: I actually released it ahead of schedule this very morning! It’s called STORK: Sowing Season. It’s a dystopian themed fiction set in the 2060s. A single Artificial Intelligence, named Unity, governs the entire earth. He’s banned many things that we enjoy today, but most importantly prohibits natural pregnancies. Only the most obedient citizens are capable of purchasing a lab-grown child from STORK, the company that makes them. The novel itself takes place in Birmingham, Alabama. It follows a family of Catholics and their daily struggles from secret Masses to heartaches caused by ones they love. The book also tells Stone’s tale, his path to being initiated into a religious terrorism group, called the Zealots. One other part of this web of lives includes Isaac, a detective that’s hunting the Zealots before their next attack. It covers Just War, the importance of procreation, and it serves as a cautionary tale of how our governments will increase control over us in an attempt to control pollution, disease, and disobedience.

3) Why did you decide to write this book?
A: I’ve always felt passionately about these subjects and I’ve always been a sort of artist. I grew up drawing, painting, and telling stories! This was just a project that brought me back to that creativity that I had placed away.
I also greatly desire to use my gifts and talents to entertain and further inspire people who are likeminded or will be likeminded. I feel as though there’s a great drought of
conservative/traditionalist entertainment and art. The world is filled with degeneracy and sin. I’m tired of people thinking that you have to fill fiction with sex and crudity to capture the attention of viewers/readers.
4) I noticed something that makes your book stand out and judged by its cover. What made you use a stork?
A: The Stork has always been a symbol of new life! I thought there would be nothing better than to name the company from the story that symbol. As I mentioned earlier, STORK is where all the would-be parents go to purchase a lab-grown baby. In the cover, you’ll also note that the Stork carries a scythe as well. This is meant to show that STORK is now also a wielder of death.

5) What is the message of the book you hope to convey to your readers?

A: I hope readers will take this story as a warning for them and their children. We are replacing God with automation and technology. The progressive agenda will NEVER stop; it is a system of constant erosion. Aside from the major themes in the story, at its heart, I hope it inspires the readers to seek reconciliation with God. There’s no sin, no life-time filled with them, that God can not wipe clean in an instant!

6) Your book could not come at a better time. We see today how our rights are being forfeited for something that can conquer our freedoms, we have. How well should this resonate to those who are afraid to take a stand?
A: I think the book really has an opportunity to reveal to many the possible threats we face in a not so distant future.

The important thing to realize, is that many of the freedoms, the progressive freedoms will have the reverse effect on us. Fighting for rights such as abortion not only belittles the significance of life, but will lead us to surrender our right to create life.

7) What are some ways people can purchase your book?
A: Amazon! There are paperbacks for $15.99, and Kindle, ebooks for $3.99. Anyone that has any questions can always visit me on @Cathoholicism on Instagram and ask away! I’m very good at responding.

Rally Outside of Supreme Court

The following is from an email blast sent out by Kristan Hawkins of Students for Life of America.

Sometimes, the pro-life movement gets a BIG opportunity to make legal progress for Life.

Wednesday is one of those opportunities!

Next week, on March 4th, the Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in the potential landmark abortion case June Medical Services v. Russo.

And we’re having a rally outside the Supreme Court in support of the pro-life Louisiana law.

>>> Visit the rally website for more information.

The case challenges a law requiring abortionists to have admitting privileges at a hospital within 30 miles of their facility.

As the first case related to abortion that will be heard since Justice Kavanaugh has been appointed to the Court, this decision could challenge/overturn the 2016 Hellerstedt decision, which stripped away commonsense protections that safeguard women from predatory abortionists.

Full Event Details:

March 3rd, 2020

  • Supreme Court, Washington, D.C.
  • 6:00 – 7:00pm – Pre-Event Prayer Vigil & Worship

March 4th, 2020

  • Supreme Court, Washington, D.C.
  • 9:00 – 9:30am – Pre-Rally – Women Share their Stories
  • 9:30 – 11:30am – Protect Women Protect Life Rally

Years ago, the late pro-life Justice Antonin Scalia noted that he wanted to reverse the 1973 decision that legalized abortion. But he asked Americans – where was the moral outcry?

You are the moral outcry! That’s why I need you to join us on Wednesday. The Justices need to see you there.

Beginning at 7:30am, we’ll be gathering in front of the court to help stake out space for our pro-life speakers and set the tone for a peaceful, fun, and energized rally. We are asking all pro-life supporters to wear the color BLUE.

Let us know at the Facebook Event if you’re coming. I hope you can; this is certainly one for the history books.
