Hundreds Brave Chilly Halloween Morning for End of 40 Days for Life Rally

A chilly but sunny fall morning dawned across the City of Philadelphia. It was soon et by peacefully pro-lifers marching for the right to birth of every unborn child.

The morning began with mass at the Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral with Fr. Dennis Gill as the celebrant. In his homily, Fr. Gill reminded those in attendance that we “must stand up for life no matter the cost.” He went to discuss how abortion is the gravest sin in our society.

Following mass, a procession to Planned Parenthood in the heart of Center City took place with the recitation of the rosary, litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and even some singing led by religious.

The rally included talks by Dr. Monique Ruberu, Pat Stanton, Pastor Herb Lusk, and Marlene Downing.

Pastor Herb Lusk III took time to remind everyone that we need to make noise for life in the streets and everywhere we go. He even led prayer for abortion’s end.

The headliner was Clenard Childress of New Jersey. He told us that our witness, prayer, and love will destroy the fortress of Planned Parenthood. Life will triumph over death when we plant good seeds.
